Leather

Himba – Shell

Himba shell leather has a marbled pigment, is very supple, and features very fine creases.

Leather is priced per metre and sold in hides of approximately 4 sqmtrs.

Himba walnut leather has a marbled pigment, is very supple, and features a very light regular grain.

Leather is priced per metre and sold in hides of approximately 4 sqmtrs.

Karabib – Mocha

Leather is priced per metre and sold in hides of approximately 4 sqmtrs.

This leather is slightly marbled, similar to the Okavango range, but has been additionally buffed for a smoother finish.

Khoi – Oyster

Khoi leathers are heavily pigmented and uniform in colour.  They are very supple.

Kudu – Oxblood

Kudu leather is priced per metre and sold in hides of approx. 2-3 sqmtr.

Kudu has a very soft glove-leather feel and larger grain than bovine leather.  Natural markings are evident and holes occasionally present.

Luxury – Eggshell

Luxury leather is grain-corrected resulting in an even texture and is deeply pigmented for a luxury contemporary look.

Leather is priced per metre and sold in hides of approximately 4 sqmtrs.

Maasai – Ash

Maasai leathers are very supple.  They have a brushed finish, and a very light, creased grain.

Memphis leather is a super-supple aniline leather, with a slightly waxed, matt finish.

Napa

Napa leather is recognisable for its very soft and supple feel.  It’s usually corrected grain and heavily dyed.

 

Nguni Skins

Nguni is a breed of cattle endemic to South Africa, and their distinctive patterns are very popular in home décor.  Hides are predominantly brown, predominantly black, grey, or a unique tri-colour.  Markings are primarily splotched or speckled. 

Nubuck – Caramel

Leather is priced per metre and sold in hides of approximately 4 sqmtrs.

Nubuck/Suede is very supple, buffed to create a light pile, and drum dyed to create colour consistency on both sides of the hide.

Leather is priced per metre and sold in hides of approximately 4 sqmtrs.

Okavango – Oxblood

Priced per metre and sold in hides of approximately 4 sqmtrs.

Okavango has a fairly uniform grain, some natural markings and a light shine.  It is characterised by a two tone look that is more evident in lighter colours.
